Summary:

“A Satirical Musical”

Since this is the best of all possible worlds it follows that everything that happens in this world is for the best.
– Dr. Pangloss, Character

The world was troubled when Voltaire wrote Candide in 1759. It was equally in distress in 1956 when Leonard Bernstein and his colleagues turned it into a musical. You could argue that things are no better now in 2017, yet in this year of the Bernstein Centenary, let us celebrate what artists of genius can do to illuminate the darkness, whenever and wherever it occurs.
– Richard Ouzounian, Director

I love Talk Is Free Theatre and the way it keeps introducing me to wonderful musicals that I never knew existed. When I head of the cast and the production team Arkady had assembled for Candide, I had to offer my full support. The best of all possible shows? I can’t wait to find out!
– Sally Elston, Supporter

Performance times are Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30pm, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
