A refreshing, interactive play.
This wonderful production charts the lengths we’ll go to for those we love. With his mother in hospital and a somewhat unhelpful father, a young boy constructs a list of little “brilliant” things to comfort her. Things like ice-cream and Kung Fu movies, to Christopher Walken’s voice and laughing so hard you shoot milk through your nose.
What begins as a simple and naive way of dealing with tragedy becomes a life-long reminder that joy can be found in the seemingly insignificant. In fact, the unremarkable can become something quite remarkable.
“We’re trying to shake up who brings what to the table. At the same time, pausing long enough to consider acknowledging problems before it’s too late.” —Arkady
