The postponement of educational and cultural events leaves a desperate need for connection but also offers new opportunities. This FREE one-of-a-kind program blends individual mentorship, original creation, and the chance to take an idea to the next level from the comfort of home.

With the health and wellbeing of participants and mentors in mind, Talk Is Free Theatre is offering a unique mentorship program to connect young people with theatre professionals in a wide variety of roles to create something brand new…

THE SOCIAL DISTANCE CYCLE

Using several online tools, Young Company members will have dedicated mentorship time to talk, advise, explore and ultimately create original work inspired by the place they are in. Over the course of three weeks, Young Company Members will have skype or phone meetings with their mentor to help guide them to create a new piece of work (monologue, play, song, story etc.) These new works will be showcased later this year.

Requirements:

-An interest in at least 3 areas listed on the application forms here:
http://www.tift.ca/talk-is-free-theatres-young-company/

-An ability to work with another person and take constructive criticism

-Being open to the creative process

-Explore the use of non-traditional methods of creation (i.e Unique setting, venue, use of music, lights etc)

-Use original ideas to create something unique to each member.

Registration is open now and closes March 28, 2020 at 5pm.

Pairings and meetings with mentors to begin following a successful application.

The mentorship and initial draft to be completed approximately by April 13, 2020.
