Sweeney Todd, whose real name is Benjamin Barker, uses his new alias to resume work in his barber shop above Mrs. Lovett’s struggling pie shop after being wrongfully sentenced to life imprisonment by the corrupt Judge Turpin. After swearing vengeance against the judge that tore his family apart, Todd and Lovett plot a unique plan that helps them both and leads them down a dangerous, thrilling path with deadly consequences.

Audiences will experience the haunting, horrible beauty of “Sweeney Todd” as a roving, immersive production inside the Neighbourhood Food Hub at Glen Rhodes Campus—its disparate spaces serving to augment their intimacy with the piece and indeed the characters within it.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

ADVISORY

This is a promenade style, immersive performance that will require the audience to follow the story by actively exploring different parts of the building, which includes the use of staircases. We offer personal support for patrons with limited mobility. Please contact us if you would like further information.

We are welcoming a maximum of 44 guests per performance.

While we are taking provincial health mandates under consideration, due to the intimate nature of the performance we expect to request our audience to be masked and fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

COVID-19 Policy

The Province of Ontario requires proof of vaccination to attend all indoor theatre events. Please note that we will require:

-Proof of Vaccination & Valid ID upon entry.
-Patrons complete a Covid-19 Self-Assessment for contact tracing purposes.
-Patrons wear their mask at all times when in the building (except when actively eating or drinking)

Only book tickets if you have received your second vaccination at least 14 days prior to the performance. If you do not have proof of vaccination and proof of identity, unfortunately, you will not be allowed access to the building.

Free Admission Policy

A security charge of $0.01 CAD is required to validate booking. Patrons can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before the performance without charge. Please email admin@tift.ca to make any changes.

In the event a patron fails to cancel or make alternate changes and does not attend the performance, a $25.00 charge will be applied per ticket to the patron’s credit card. This charge will be used as a donation to the theatre and a tax receipt will be issued.

UPDATED COVID-19 POLICY: Due to the nature of our programming, in addition to the Ontario government's ongoing mask mandate, Talk Is Free Theatre WILL CONTINUE to require proof of vaccination after February 28, 2022 and reserves the right to implement other safety measures as necessary. We will do our best to keep you informed, as safety measures can change at any time.
